Stunt Showreel

Benos is a Stuntman specialising in... Theatrical Fighting and Fight Choreography, Abseiling, Fire Burns, Scuba Diving, Precision / Stunt Driving. He worked at the Australian Stunt Academy from 2001-2007 as an instructor. Benos has recently performed background stunts for some of the latest Hollywood movies including Warhorse, Wrath of the Titans and Snow White and the Huntsman. He has worked with mini tramp, fire, explosions, rigging, and has successfully coordinated a number of non mainstream stunts for short film projects.

 

Driving

Benos works part time at drift limits and has got some very reasonable driving skills that could be very handy in certain situations.

 

Whips

Benos has played around with Whip Cracking for a few years and has developed a reasonable skill level.

 

Live Performances

Benos toured in America with the 'Batman Live Show' in 2012 as 'The Scarecrow' (see stilts video) and general performer. Before that he worked at Movie World on the Gold Coast in Australia for 2 years. Whilst there, He performed in street stunt performances and shows, as well as playing a variety of characters such as The Joker, Green Lantern, Agent Smith, Neo, Mustafa (Austin Powers) Black Bart (Cowboy) and most famously Batman.

 

Abseiling

Benos has been teaching abseiling since 2001. In that time he has developed some excellent abseiling techniques, methods and moves, also with high risk stunt maneuvers and smooth stylish decents. In 2011 he qualified as a Single Pitch Climbing Instructor.

 

Trampolining

Benos started trampolining 2 years ago, is soon to progress to a level 2 coach, and currently trains regularly working towards competitive gradings.

 

Theatrical Fighting / Martial Arts

Benos has spend 10 years teaching Theatrical fighting. This is helped by his qualifications in Karate (2nd Dan) Taekwondo (1st Dan), Benos has also had experience training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Capoeira, Wing Chun, and has currently training in Shaolin Kung Fu. Benos has also trained with various weapons including Bo, Jo, Nunchucks, Kali Sticks, sword and shield, Crossbow and Longbow

 

Acro Balance

Benos started acro balance a few years ago. With his partner at the time, they choreographed their first adagio performance in the video (to the right of this page) and performed it at a couple of venues. Unfortunately he rarely trains in acro at the moment because of training classes clashes with other skills making it difficult to progress, however he still really enjoys it and practices when he can.

 

Juggling

Benos has taught himself to juggle 3 balls. He hasn't quite mastered 5 balls, but is working towards it. He can also juggle 3 clubs, and even complete passing moves with a pater. He continues training in this skill on occasion.

 

Stilt Walking

Benos' spring stilt skills are at a basic level. He is comfortable walking, gentle jogging, and getting up from the ground. He has used his stilts walking around promoting at a few fairs and exhibitions.

 

Scuba Diving

Benos received his PADI Open Water Instructor Qualification in 2001, and then completed his Master Scuba Diver Trainer award. He has done well over 1000 dives and certified a number of students as PADI divers.

Sky Diving

Benos has got his skydiving 'A' licence, logged 30 jumps and continues to skydive and is working towards wingsuit flying.

 

Fire Burns / Breathing

Benos found an unusual passion for being on fire. He has completed over 30 fire burns : part body, full body, bare skin burns, fire weapons and toys, As well as fire breathing. He has also coordinated over 20 fire burns.

 

High Falls

Benos has performed high falls from heights of up to 15 metres using a variety of landing rigs (Mats, Air Bags, self prepared Box Rigs). He is competent at many of the techniques used in high falling.

High Diving

Benos has experience diving from 10m and has passed the stunt diving qualification.

Dives : Straight Dive, Reverse Dive, Back Dive, Forward Dive Half Twist, Back Fall, Front Somersault (FSS), Back Somersault (BSS), 1.5 FSS , Full Twisting BSS, Barani, Gainer.
